What We Do

The Salvation Army is a faith-based social services organization and first and foremost, a church ministry.  Service to God and sharing His Word is the motivation for all that we do.  The Army practices an integrated ministry uniting spiritual, social and physical support - a holistic approach to serving the total person.

The Army was founded with the desire to help those less fortunate and the belief that all people are entitled to essentials like food, clothing, safe housing, second chances and the opportunity to prosper.  Through its many programs and services, The Army seeks first to meet the immediate concerns and issues of individuals in crisis by providing for these most basic human needs.  Wherever possible, the goal is to approach their situations and challenges with longer-term solutions that promote stability.  As part of its holistc approach to serving the total person, The Salvation Army also makes spiritual counsel available to those who seek it.
